Surveillance Devices Act 2007The objective of this Act is:

  • To recognize the emergency authorization and warrant issued in various jurisdictions.
  • To enforce requirement for the destruction of records and secure pages and the making of reports to Parliament, Magistrate and Judges, with respect to the surveillance device operations.
  • To regulate the use, retrieval, maintenance and installation of surveillance device.

    Telecommunications (Interception) Northern Territory Act 2001Telecommunications (Interception) Northern Territory Act 2001 enables the Northern Territory Police Force to declare as an agency for the rationale of Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Act 1979. The Act becomes operational on the date fixed in the Administrator’s notice given in the Gazette. In this Act, the terms like warrant, restricted period, premises, certifying officer and agency have same meaning as specified in Commonwealth Act.
