The objective of this Act is:
Telecommunications (Interception) Northern Territory Act 2001 enables the Northern Territory Police Force to declare as an agency for the rationale of Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Act 1979. The Act becomes operational on the date fixed in the Administrator’s notice given in the Gazette. In this Act, the terms like warrant, restricted period, premises, certifying officer and agency have same meaning as specified in Commonwealth Act.
